Residential Consultations

The principles of Feng Shui are timeless. Homes which are not only visually delightful, but promote harmony, health and a feeling of well-being are often the result of good design and good Feng Shui. Although not identical, these disciplines work hand in hand to produce living spaces that are both beautiful and beneficial to their occupants.

Hence Feng Shui and design are not only concerned with the relationship between a home and its surrounding environment, but Feng Shui also focuses on the improvement of life here and now. Living spaces which are designed according to indiscernible Feng Shui rules creates richly productive rooms where one feels totally at ease.

Considerations of aesthetics, color and furnishings also form an integral part of any Feng Shui assessment and a sympathetic understanding of occupied spaces often produces the best and most balanced overall results. When traditional Feng Shui principles are properly applied, a certain stability enters your life, a sense of peace reigns in your home and your chances of prosperity improve.

At ShengChi-Feng Shui all our consultations are based on authentic, classical techniques and are conducted in a professional, confidential and timely manner. Every site is thoroughly assessed and we offer both design and construction suggestions. In addition we look at the facing direction of the home, the location of water in and near the home, the position of the main door and other entrances, the uses to which particular rooms are put, and the effect of these factors upon different members of the family.

We take great pride in the quality of our services, both during and after the consultation and provide comprehensive written reports. In addition we utilize the IV Pillars of Destiny (Chinese Astrology) to determine other factors which may be affecting your health, relationships or finances.

Prior to the consultation you will need to provide the following:

  • A scale copy of your floor plan – this can be obtained from your local council and can take up to three weeks to arrive
  • The year the home was constructed
  • Gender, birth date, time and place of each person living in the home

Site Evaluation

Feng Shui can be an invaluable tool for evaluating the land on which your new house will be situated. The actual landscape that surrounds any building or home is analysed according to the location of the 'Four Celestial Animals'. These are not real animals but are in fact metaphors for forms and features such as trees, plants, hills, fences, rocks, other buildings and houses. We call these animals the 'Red Bird', the 'Black Tortoise', the 'Green Dragon' and the 'White Tiger' and together they form the 'Perfect Arrangement'. When a building is located within this perfect arrangement then precious energy is created and can attract good fortune for the occupants.

Fire Placement

The location of a stove or fireplace within your home must always be carefully considered as this utilizes the element of Fire. Fire placement in our environment affects not only us as individuals, but also the health and longevity of your home. In fact when Fire is correctly placed it can support the health, prosperity and status of your family and also increase the value of your property.

However if a stove or fireplace is incorrectly placed then it can bring sickness, financial problems and bad luck. Therefore it is vital to ensure that these elements are correctly placed not only in relation to the home itself, but also to the occupants.

*Analysis on the placement of fire can be included in a residential consultation for an additional cost.

Annual Review

An annual analysis is quite customary throughout most of China and Asia. This can be done at any time throughout the year, but it is more beneficial to schedule one around the 4th of February, as this date is usually the commencement of the Chinese New Year.

The purpose of an annual audit is to assess the types of Feng Shui influences that will affect you during the course of each year and determine their locations within your home.

Some years challenging energies or 'bad stars' may arrive at your main entrance or fall into your bedroom, home office or kitchen. These can bring illness, obstacles or financial difficulties and trigger other problems such as gossip, lawsuits and theft.

Knowing where these influences are located allows you to apply remedies, adjust your living spaces and counteract these ahead of time. In turn you will be able to better keep your fortunes and relationships stable and secure.

The Annual Residential Review includes:

  • Only available to clients who have previously had a comprehensive Feng Shui audit
  • Recommended on or around February 4th each year
  • Includes a site visit which ensures you receive an individual update on the incoming energies and how to prepare your home

Date Selection

* If you do not have a floor plan it is easy to draw one. You do not need every detail, only walls, doors, windows and most importantly be correct and to scale. Alternately we can recommend a company that draws floor plans professional for a small fee
